Surrey M25 Accident Causes Long Delays
Traffic came to a standstill around 6:45 a.m. following a multi-vehicle crash on the M25 clockwise route between Cobham Services and Junction 11 (A320 St Peters Way, Chertsey). According to Inrix, all lanes have now been reopened, but motorists continue to face heavy congestion.
“Queueing traffic due to earlier accident on M25 clockwise from J9 A243 (Leatherhead) to J11 A320 St Peters Way (Chertsey). All lanes now open.”
The crash involved five cars and a van before Junction 11. Despite lanes reopening, drivers are still experiencing severe delays, with travel time estimated at around 60 minutes. Congestion currently stretches back to Junction 8 (Reigate). Authorities also briefly held traffic at Junction 10 (Wisley) due to a separate breakdown.
Officials urge drivers to remain patient and plan for extended travel times while the backlog clears.
