David Taylor, formerly of Tarbolton Crescent, Hale, launched an eight-month stalking campaign in August last year after being barred from his former GP's practice. The 56-year-old's behaviour on the premises became aggressive and alarming, resulting in his placement on the practice's barred list.
Despite being blocked, Taylor found the GP's business profile page and messaged her. He continued to harass her by using another account to request his medical records be transferred to a new GP. The victim, increasingly frightened, blocked all contact attempts.
Taylor later posted inappropriate comments on the GP's business Facebook page, intensifying the victim's distress. The situation worsened on March 26 when the GP answered her door at her home in Knutsford to find Taylor standing there, asking for a word.
"After her initial shock, she shut the door, called her husband and 999."
Knowing where the GP and her family lived, Taylor's actions left her living in fear and unable to feel safe or live normally.
Taylor has been handed one of the country's longest jail sentences for stalking due to his obsessive and volatile behaviour.
