John Bolton Indicted on 18 Counts
Former National Security Adviser John Bolton was indicted by a federal grand jury in Maryland on 18 counts of allegedly mishandling classified information.
Prosecutors claim Bolton shared over 1,000 pages of "diary-like" notes with family members while serving in the Trump White House, using personal email and messaging accounts, some of which allegedly contained sensitive intelligence.
Bolton, 76, denies wrongdoing and says the charges represent political retaliation. His legal team asserts much of the material was unclassified or already known to investigators.
Bolton is accused of storing classified documents at his home in Bethesda and at his Washington office.
