The Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) will host three public forums this week to gather community feedback on its proposal for school closures and consolidations starting in 2026.
The first community forum is scheduled for Monday, December 1, at Kammerer Middle School.
These sessions aim to engage residents and stakeholders in discussions about the potential changes affecting various schools within the district. Community input will be used to shape final decisions on the proposed adjustments.
"We want to ensure that everyone affected by these proposals has an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns," a JCPS representative said.
Following the forums, JCPS will review the feedback and consider it in the planning and implementation process for 2026.
The scheduled forums underscore JCPS's commitment to transparency and community involvement in major decisions impacting local education.
