The MIAA's Continued Problem with Catholic Memorial Football

The effects of Catholic Memorial football remaining in the MIAA's Division 2 are evident and worsening with the latest realignment.

As the 2025 high school football season's tournament time begins, the MIAA faces a familiar issue. For the fifth consecutive season, Catholic Memorial, one of the state's most talented programs, will compete below the highest level.

Catholic Memorial, currently the fourth-highest rated team in the state, will enter the postseason as the top seed in Division 2.

The team is helmed by the second-winningest coach in state history.

After losing back-to-back Division 1 Super Bowls to St. John's Prep in 2018 and 2019, CM moved down to Division 2 as the MIAA realigned following the Covid era.

Author's summary: MIAA faces issues with Catholic Memorial football in Division 2.
