Disaster Aid Distribution in Western Alaska
The State of Alaska has started distributing disaster relief payments to residents of Western Alaska affected by ex-Typhoon Halong, with over $217,000 distributed as of Friday.
According to the Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, more than 940 applications for state individual assistance have been received.
- Applications for assistance are open on the state's website until November 9.
- The Alaska Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Health are providing replacement services for lost identification and essential documents at emergency evacuation shelters in Anchorage.
- The Association of Village Council Presidents is offering tribal IDs in the shelters.
