The State of Alaska has started distributing disaster relief payments to residents of Western Alaska affected by ex-Typhoon Halong, with over $217,000 distributed as of Friday.
According to the Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, more than 940 applications for state individual assistance have been received.
Federal aid has also been approved to support the affected residents.
