Pottsville School Celebrates Farmers and Healthy Ingredients for Farm to School Month
Pottsville DHH Lengel Middle School's cafeteria staff received a heartfelt "Thank you!" from students after preparing a meal with locally sourced ingredients.
Students and staff enjoyed homemade sloppy joes with grass-fed beef and BBQ chicken made from ingredients sourced from Honey Brook Farm in Schuylkill Haven, fresh orchard apples from Jersey Acres Farm in Pine Grove, and veggie cups and vegetable-infused pasta salad courtesy of Anderson Farms in Friedensburg.
The event was part of Farm to School Month, promoting healthy eating and supporting local farmers.
The roar of the students' "Thank you!" said it all.
