Homeless Encampment Clean-ups Spark Divide
Recent clean-up efforts at homeless encampments near Flamingo and Maryland Parkway have been met with mixed reactions from residents and the unhoused.
Some nearby residents and property owners claim that crime stemming from the encampments persists.
I walk out of the house, and I have to see guys shooting up, I see naked people on the street, I see people getting beaten up. Nobody is talking about the way our mental health is being affected, having to see all of this every single day. I am done, said a resident at the Homeless Town Hall meeting.
The meeting, held by the County, aimed to address concerns surrounding the homeless encampments.
