Man Convicted of Murdering Hotel Worker

A 19-year-old man, Deng Chol Majek, has been convicted of murdering a 27-year-old hotel worker, Rhiannon Whyte, after a brutal attack on a railway station platform.

Majek followed Whyte to Bescot Stadium railway station after she finished her shift at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Walsall, where he had been staying as an asylum seeker.

Today, Majek was convicted of murder and having an offensive weapon following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
