the St. George Dragons is a former Australian professional rugby league football club based in Kogarah, New South Wales. Foundation member of NSWRL, dating back to 1908. The team was among the most successful in the NRL era, winning 21 minor premierships and 11 premierships. Reg Gasnier, Norm Provan, and Graeme Langlands stood out among their stars. They moved to Illawarra in 1999 and continued as St. George Illawarra Dragons, keeping the Dragons name. Kogarah Oval hosted home games with roughly 22,000 seats. The Dragons’ history includes a strong junior and senior pipeline, feeding success into the NRL era. The Dragons name remains a core identity for the Illawarra partnership.
