A 7.4 tremor hit Mexico’s Pacific coast a little before 6 a.m. on Friday.
A extensive tsunami alert was released for coastal strips through Mexico and Guatemala immediately afterwards.
The ground continually trembled, shaking towns further north into Guatemala and El Salvador as well.
Moments after 4 a.m., a 7.3 quake rattled the same area.
No accounts of damage or cracked buildings came in after the warnings.
