An amateur skygazer using Google Maps stumbled upon a broad ring-shaped dent in northern Quebec. Specialists from Quebec’s geological survey verified it is a massive meteorite impact crater formed around 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The terrain feature closely matches other confirmed craters and signals a major ancient collision. Satellite images were mapped against field data to confirm the result.
