Nassau Police Officer Ian Fogarty Honored

Ian Fogarty, a Nassau County police officer, was recognized for rescuing two teens caught in a riptide at Cupsogue Beach County Park on July 16.

Fogarty was visiting the park with his wife, Kristen, and three children when he observed two 16-year-olds struggling in the current about 100 yards offshore.

With only a boogie board, Fogarty swam out to the teens and helped them return to shore safely.
