Greg Doroski, a Democrat, defeated Republican legislator Stark for the North Fork seat in Suffolk's 1st District. This marked a notable victory in the region. Meanwhile, no other incumbents in either county appeared to have been defeated as of late Tuesday, though early Wednesday results in Nassau's 9th District still showed incumbent Republican Scott P. Strauss leading Democrat Juleigh Chin.
