A local community services worker has helped launch a potentially lifesaving domestic violence disclosure scheme in Victoria.
Michelle Smith, a senior case manager with eight years of experience working with family violence victim survivors and perpetrators, approached East Gippsland Shire Deputy Mayor Sonia Buckley to take Clare's Law to the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV).
The motion was successfully passed with over 94% in favour, giving the scheme statewide backing from all member councils.
