Bloomberg reports that Apple plans to release a $600 MacBook using an A-series chip, targeting students and budget buyers with a Chromebook alternative.
Earlier reports from Ming-Chi Kuo and DigiTimes suggested a sub-$600 MacBook arriving by early 2026, powered by an iPhone-class A-series chip rather than Apple’s laptop-grade M-series silicon.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new MacBook will sell for "well under $1,000" and is expected to arrive by early 2026.
Those reports have come exclusively from within Apple’s supply chain and have been relatively light on details.
