Buckaroo Leads Waller's Melbourne Cup Assault
Chris Waller has compared Buckaroo's Melbourne Cup preparation to that of 2021 winner Verry Elleegant.
Buckaroo and Valiant King will lead Waller's five-horse team in the Melbourne Cup, which could be his second triumph in the race.
Waller won the Melbourne Cup with Verry Elleegant in 2021 and has likened Buckaroo's build-up to that of the champion mare.
Buckaroo was a narrow second to Via Sistina in the Cox Plate and will be ridden by Craig Williams out of barrier 12 at Flemington.
Buckaroo is rated around $9 after finishing ninth as last year's favourite.
