Brett and Susan Patin, who bought property and built a home in an unincorporated part of Lafayette Parish in 2023, are experiencing this firsthand.
We came here to retire, to settle down for a peaceful living, says Brett. However, their peaceful life is now at risk due to a planned subdivision that would add 146 single-family houses near their home.
