NC Fisheries: New Reporting Rules

New reporting requirements for certain species of catch will go into effect Dec. 1 for recreational and commercial fishers.

The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries is reminding fishers that starting December 1, recreational fishers must report catches of flounder, red drum, striped bass, spotted seatrout, and weakfish.

Commercial fishermen must also report any finfish, shellfish, and crustacean they keep but do not sell through a seafood dealer.
