A number of Texas National Guard troops were replaced in Chicago after failing to meet standards.
The Texas Military Department removed the troops for not being "in compliance" with its validation process, according to a spokesperson.
A small group of the 200 National Guard members sent to Illinois have been replaced after they were found to not meet certain standards.
The decision came after criticism on social media over photos showing some Guard members appearing to be overweight.
An appeals court also temporarily blocked the deployment of the Texan troops into Illinois.
