Preds Fall to Flyers Despite Wood's First NHL Goal

Nashville Predators rookie Matthew Wood scored his first NHL goal, but the team lost to the Philadelphia Flyers with a final score of 4-1 on Thursday night.

The Preds outshot the Flyers 33-18, but the home team had the advantage where it counted. After the game, Preds Alternate Captain Ryan O’Reilly expressed his disappointment, saying:

“Another tough loss - disappointing. Opportunities could have been different, but it’s the way it’s going right now. [We just have to] keep fighting.”

Preds Head Coach Andrew Brunette also shared his thoughts, stating:

“It was a great effort, we played really well but didn’t get the result. I think we're all a little bit frustrated over it, but we’ve got to go through this. Every team does, and it's how we handle ourselves fighting through this.”

Brunette added that he expects the team to keep fighting, saying the guys showed a lot of fight tonight.
