Westport Power to Victory Over Ballyhaunis in Mayo Rugby Derby

Connacht Rugby Junior 1B League saw Westport dominate Ballyhaunis, running in five tries and limiting the visitors to only one score.

A strong second half performance ensured Westport's flying start. Centre Harry Sheridan was almost unstoppable, earning him the man-of-the-match title, particularly after scoring a remarkable try in the first half.

Sheridan ran a perfect line, galloped through the Ballyhaunis defensive line, and danced around the last defenders to touch down between the posts.

Westport's fly-half, Stephen Loftus, consistently won the kicking game, booting the ball deep into the opposition's territory whenever he spotted space. Ballyhaunis, who had impressed this season by reaching the Curley Cup final and winning their first league match, traveled to Carrowholly with hopes for a better outcome but were ultimately outperformed.

Author's summary: Westport dominated Ballyhaunis in the Mayo rugby derby.
