DOE Partners with Siquijor LGU to Streamline Energy Project Permitting
The Department of Energy (DOE) has partnered with the provincial government of Siquijor to promote a standardized ordinance for simplifying the permitting process for energy infrastructure projects.
On October 29, 2025, DOE Undersecretary Mylene C. Capongcol presented the Local Government Unit Ordinance Template for Energy Infrastructure Projects (EIPs) in a consultation.
This template aims to
- harmonize local procedures
- minimize bureaucratic delays
- ensure faster implementation of energy initiatives across the country
