UND music therapy alumna now director of returned program, adds more neuroscience and business to curriculum

UND Music Therapy Alumna Returns as Program Director

Carly Flaagan, a University of North Dakota (UND) music therapy alumna, has returned to her alma mater as the director of the reinstated music therapy program.

Flaagan, who graduated from UND with a degree in music therapy, spent eight years in Colorado earning a master's degree, practicing music therapy, and running an internship program. She jumped at the opportunity to lead the program, which was removed a year after her graduation.

"I had it on my radar," she said. "I had a wonderful experience here as an undergraduate music therapy major. I absolutely loved it and benefited so much from the education and clinical training that I received here at UND.

As director, Flaagan aims to add more neuroscience and business to the curriculum, enhancing the program's offerings. With her husband, she has relocated to Grand Forks, where she is excited to contribute to the program's growth and development.
