Bantam River Riders Defeat Hague in Historic Matchup

The final game for a Prince Albert Minor Football team was a memorable one at Max Clunie Field on Sunday afternoon.

The Bantam River Riders faced off against the Hague Junior Panthers, marking the first-ever matchup between the two communities. The River Riders emerged victorious with a 27-8 win, overcoming an 8-0 deficit at the half.

“We typically in the fall play 12–a-side in the KFL (Kinsmen Football League), but this year we didn’t have the people for that, so this was our first fall playing six-a-side,”

said Ashley Viklund, coach of the Bantam River Riders, explaining the unusual circumstances that led to the matchup.

Author's summary: River Riders win 27-8 against Hague Junior Panthers.
