Rail Minister Opens New Station in Essex

Rail minister Lord Hendy visited Britain's newest station, Beaulieu Park in north Chelmsford, after it opened to passengers.

The station was built with £141 million from the Government's Housing Infrastructure Fund, £12 million from the South-East Local Enterprise Partnership, and £22 million from the developers of Beaulieu.

The first train to call was the 07.20 to London Liverpool Street, with up to four trains an hour during peaks, operated by Greater Anglia.
