The Columbus Blue Jackets avoided their usual meltdown against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena, fending off late pressure to win via shootout.
In their latest game on October 25, the Blue Jackets were expected to implode as they had done before, but they managed to hold on and secure a 5-4 shootout win.
After blowing a 4-2 lead in the last 5:06 of the third period, the Jackets struggled to get out of their own zone, giving Sidney Crosby ample time to work inside their blue line.
However, unlike their previous games, the Blue Jackets were able to withstand the pressure and come out on top.
The other shoe has dropped so many times on the Blue Jackets at PPG Paints Arena that everybody watching their latest implosion there waited for the inevitable thud.
