Pan Pacific Open: Rybakina Withdraws from Semifinals
Elena Rybakina was forced to withdraw from the Pan Pacific Open semifinal in Tokyo due to a back injury.
Her withdrawal came just a day after securing her place at the season-ending WTA Finals, handing Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic a walkover into Sunday's final.
Noskova, the sixth seed, will face either Sofia Kenin or Belinda Bencic in the final.
"I'm very sorry I can't play today," said Rybakina. "I have been having problems with my back this week and can't play 100 per cent."
Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, had looked in fine form all week before her withdrawal.
