Two men in Nova Scotia, Mark Rankin and Grant Cameron, rescued three stranded pilot whales on a beach.
Time was of the essence when they arrived at the beach, as low tide was approaching and the whales were stranded at 9 a.m.
“We stripped down to our briefs and did the best we could,”
Rankin told CTV News. The men had been planning to help a friend winterize his cabin, but quickly set aside their plans to help the whales.
They took action as they were unsure if the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans would arrive in time.
