Fighting Tigers Protest Playoff Denial

The Ironton Fighting Tigers football team and supporters protested outside the Ironton School Board office on Friday morning.

They were reacting to the news that they would not be allowed to participate in the playoffs, as decided by the Ohio High School Athletic Association on Thursday.

We are out here fighting, for our right to be able to play in the state playoffs.

According to senior Zayne Williams, a running back and linebacker, the team's opportunity to play in the state playoffs was taken away by individuals who haven't achieved their goals in life, affecting the team.

Despite the setback, the team is still allowed to play their regular season games.
