Sweden, NATO's 32nd member, will participate in the annual Steadfast Noon exercises, starting October 13, to ensure the reliability, safety, and effectiveness of the Alliance's nuclear deterrence.
The Swedish Ministry of Defense confirmed the involvement of Swedish JAS 39 Gripen jets, which will train alongside allies under the SNOWCAT concept.
The Swedish Armed Forces are taking part in the exercises to practice conventional support using the JAS 39 Gripen, contributing to nuclear deterrence.
The exercises aim to maintain a reliable nuclear capability as a safeguard against attacks on the Alliance, with no live nuclear weapons used.
Nuclear deterrence is primarily intended to ensure the security of allies, particularly in today's unstable conditions.
