Thunderstorms and Rain Hit Valley
Thunderstorms and rain continued to affect parts of the Valley on Sunday morning after overnight storms blanketed the metro Phoenix area.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Phoenix reported weather activity moving northeast through the Valley, describing the thunderstorms as having "very heavy" rainfall.
- A flash flood warning was issued for Maricopa County until 11 a.m.
- Flood warnings were issued for Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and Chandler Heights, expected to expire around 11 a.m.
- Earlier flood warnings were issued for Buckeye, Chandler, Anthem, Mesa, Tempe, and Gilbert.
NWS warned motorists to stay off of flooded roadways.
