Team Homan Falls Short to Japan in Pan Continentals Opener

Team Rachel Homan, fresh off winning a record 19th Grand Slam title, lost 11-5 to Japan's Team Satsuki Fujisawa in their opening game at the 2025 United States Steel Pan Continental Curling Championships.

The team, consisting of Rachel Homan, Tracy Fleury, Emma Miskew, Sarah Wilkes, and alternate Rachelle Brown, had a long cross-country trip to get to Virginia, Minn., with two flights and a three-hour drive.

Despite their exhausting travel schedule, the two-time defending Canadian and world champions from Ottawa were expected to perform well, but the schedule finally caught up with them.

The team arrived Monday afternoon, shortly before their assigned practice time, and played their opening game Tuesday morning.
