A selective licensing scheme has been launched in Scunthorpe following a failed landlord challenge.
Landlords in the Crosby & Park and Town wards must now obtain a license to rent their properties, which costs £995 over a five-year period.
The scheme's launch was initially delayed due to a challenge by the Crosby Landlords' Association regarding the cost.
This is about raising the quality of housing and the quality of life for residents – things that matter in every community across North Lincolnshire.
Too often, poor standards and neglect have gone hand in hand with anti-social behaviour and a loss of pride in communities.
The vast number of landlords who do the right thing have nothing to worry about – they help drive up standards and support better, stronger neighbourhoods.
