A 40-year-old man from Berne, Thomas Murphy III, is facing charges for driving a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) while intoxicated.

Murphy allegedly drove recklessly and crashed into a pickup truck, causing $10,000 in damage. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center.

Murphy's blood alcohol concentration was 0.26% at the time of the crash, and he also had cocaine in his system, according to police.
