The long-awaited Réseau express métropolitain (REM) train line extension to Montreal’s North Shore is scheduled to begin on November 17.
With 5 REM stations already in service between Brossard and downtown, 14 new stations will be added to extend service to Deux-Montagnes.
This new stretch of the REM will have three connections with the Montreal metro, and several bus routes are set to be revised to link to it as well.
Service to l’Anse-à-l’Orme in the West Island is expected to begin in the spring, while an airport station remains in the works for 2027.
According to recent tests, the Deux-Montagnes branch will be put into service on November 17, with the first departures from Brossard and Deux-Montagnes at around 5:30 am.
