Theatre Charity Boss Calls for Drama in National Curriculum

Sita McIntosh, chief executive of Go Live Theatre Projects, believes drama should be a foundational subject in the national curriculum.

“No. To be really honest, I don’t.”

McIntosh expressed her concerns about the current state of arts in schools, stating that the Labour administration is not doing enough to enhance children's access to the arts and creative industries.

Ahead of the upcoming review into England's curriculum and assessment standards, McIntosh hopes for a "quick and simple fix" to prioritize drama in schools.

Author's summary: Drama should be a foundational subject.
