Sunday Trading: Better Abolished than Relaxed

Recently, the Government considered increasing Sunday trading hours, allegedly to appease large businesses due to an impending tax hike.

However, after public outcry, the Government indicated it was merely "flying a kite" to gauge opinions, and not seriously considering the change.

The current rule remains: large retailers and supermarkets can open for no more than six consecutive hours on Sundays.

As Christians, we believe a day of rest is beneficial and that we should not be forced to work on Sundays.
