Valentin Vacherot Wins Shanghai Masters
The 2025 Shanghai Masters was a family affair as cousins Valentin Vacherot and Arthur Rinderknech met in the final.
Vacherot defeated his cousin 4–6, 6–3, 6–3, claiming his maiden ATP Tour title and the upset of the year by beating 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic in the semi-final.
His notable victories included 14th seed Alexander Bublik and 10th Holger Rune, making him the first Monagasque to win a top-level title.
He became the first man from Monaco to reach the quarter-final of an ATP Masters 1000 event.
Vacherot started the tournament 150 places below his cousin in the ATP Rankings.
