The new film "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You" brings a comedic nightmare to the big screen, directed by Mary Bronstein and starring Rose Byrne.
Before the film's screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, Rose Byrne advised the audience to imagine the worst day of their life to get in the proper mindset for the film. She instructed them to hold that feeling and let it carry through the acerbic, tense, and hilarious experience that follows.
Hold that feeling, she said, and let it carry through the acerbic, tense and hilarious experience that will follow.
Byrne stars as Linda, a mental health counsellor whose life is falling apart. The film opens on an uncomfortable close-up of her face as a doctor chides her for not doing everything she can to help her daughter heal from a mystery illness.
The film takes a turn for the worse from there, with each scene presenting a new obstacle for Linda to deal with.
