Cairo 2025: Paris 2024 Champions Shatter World Records

Iran's Aliakbar Gharibshahi and Nigeria's Folashad Oluwafemiayo broke their own records to win world titles at the Cairo 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships.

Gharibshahi, a two-time world champion, dominated the men's up to 107 kg final, breaking his own world record of 254 kg by one kilogram. He attempted 260 kg but was unsuccessful.

After Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, I trained a lot to set to raise the bar again.

Two-time Paralympic champion Abdelkareem Khattab also won his third world title. Gharibshahi and Oluwafemiayo's record-breaking performances highlighted the championships.
