President Ramaphosa Suspends Inspector-General of Intelligence
President Cyril Ramaphosa has suspended the Inspector-General of Intelligence, Mr Imtiaz Fazel, pending an investigation by Parliament’s Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence (JSCI) into his conduct.
According to a statement issued by Vincent Magwenya, Spokesperson to the President, the suspension is with immediate effect.
Mr Fazel has been suspended pending a decision in an investigation by Parliament’s Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence (JSCI) into the Inspector-General’s conduct.
The investigation is currently underway by the JSCI.
