Philips Loses 21-Year-Old Patent Case
Philips, a multinational digital tech company, has lost a two-decade legal battle in the Delhi High Court over patent infringement related to Video Compact Discs (VCDs).
The case, Koninklijke Philips NV v., was resolved on October 13, with Justice Mini Pushkarna ruling that Philips failed to prove its patent in 'Digital Transmission System' had been infringed by a Delhi-based shop.
