Dodgers' Dominance in the LCS
The Dodgers and the Mariners have achieved a rare feat in postseason play, not seen in 55 years.
According to Sarah Langs, this is only the second time since 1970 that two road teams in a League Championship Series have taken both opening games of the LCS.
- In 1970, the Cincinnati Reds won the first two games against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
- The 1970 Baltimore Orioles took the first two games against the Minnesota Twins, scoring 21 runs.
Both League Championship Series ended in three-game sweeps.
The Orioles went on to win the World Series in five games, in a "gentleman's sweep" against the Reds.
