Fourteen shipping containers have been delivered to the South Side to create the first-of-its-kind transitional housing for veterans in Ohio.
Each container will include a bedroom and a bathroom, connected in the middle with a brick and mortar structure, featuring a kitchen, laundry facility, therapy rooms, office space, and a living room setting.
They'll have the common area in the middle of the building where there's going to be a kitchen, laundry facility, therapy rooms, office space, a television, a living room setting,
said Brandi Parker, assistant director of outreach services in the Veteran Services Division of Family and Community Services Inc.
Veteran's Haven, a program of Family and Community Services, is spearheading the project at Hillman Street and West Warren Avenue, funded through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
