Creation of the MVP Character
The concept for the MVP character in WWE was inspired by an NFL star, according to former WWE creative team member Andrew Goldstein.
Goldstein spoke to Conrad Thompson of AdFreeShows.com on The Insiders podcast, revealing how a former NFL star influenced Dusty Rhodes' idea for the MVP gimmick.

At the time, MVP was in developmental, working on an early version of his character. Goldstein, an Eagles fan, noted the influence of NFL star Terrell Owens on the MVP character's development.
