Police Constable Remanded Over Alleged Assault on Lawyer
Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala has instructed an immediate investigation into the incident.
The Minister directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to obtain a statement from the police constable involved and carry out further inquiries.
- Attorney Gunaratne Wanninayake and his son have been summoned to the Mount Lavinia Police to provide statements.
- The incident occurred on October 10, following an argument over a parking dispute between the lawyer’s vehicle and a prison bus within the court premises.
