Shayne Coplan, a 27-year-old founder of Polymarket, has surpassed Alexandr Wang as the world's youngest self-made billionaire.
Coplan dropped out of college and launched his firm from his apartment bathroom. His cryptocurrency-based betting platform received a major boost when Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) invested $2 billion, lifting the firm's valuation to $9 billion.
As a result, Coplan's estimated 11% stake in Polymarket is now valued at over $1 billion, making him a billionaire at 27.
