An 18-year-old student, Matthew Silverstone, who was shot twice in the Evergreen High School attack, has been released from the hospital.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Silverstone was shot once in the head and once in the chest. His heart stopped twice, once at the scene and once in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
“The fact that we are able to share that with you, just five weeks after the attack, is nothing short of miraculous … He can now speak.
Silverstone spent weeks in intensive care and will now focus on a long road of rehabilitation, according to his family.
