Union ‘going to do something’ over staff grievances at BAIC

Union to Address Staff Grievances at BAIC

A trade union is planning its next move over grievances regarding the alleged non-payment of salary increments for Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC) staff.

Why can some people have and some not have?

Linda Sands, the Bahamas General Workers Union's (BGWU) representative, stated that only half of the promised salary increments were paid, with the last payment occurring in 2022-2023.

According to Ms. Sands, the BGWU has reached out to the Ministry of Finance multiple times, over five, and received no response, prompting them to contact the Prime Minister's Office.

The union is seeking a meeting to resolve the issue and pay the outstanding balance to BAIC staff.
